MMC FISH — FISH method automation software (fluorescent in situ) hybridization

Dedicated software for automation of FISH technique

FISH (Fluorescence in situ Hybridization) is a cytogenetic technique used to detect and localize the presence or absence of specific DNA sequences on chromosomes. FISH uses fluorescent probes that bind to only those parts of the chromosome with which they show a high degree of sequence similarity. MMC FISH is based on our MultiMedia Catalog software specially adjusted for convenient work with FISH technique.

FISH methodology
FISH is a widely used cytogenetic method that is used in situ to detect and determine the position of a specific DNA sequence on chromosomes. Fluorescent microscopes, high-sensitivity cameras, and special software are used to determine the regions of chromosomes that have been associated with fluorescent samples. FISH is often used to find specific regions of DNA for genetic counseling, medicine, and species identification.
FISH is also used to detect and locate specific mRNAs in a tissue sample . In the latter case, the FISH method makes it possible to establish spatiotemporal features of gene expression in cells and tissues.

Areas of use of MMC FISH

  • Shooting black and white images using filters
followed by color coding at the user's choice, or shooting a series of color images. Convenient custom marker map settings.
  • Storing the original b/w images and the resulting image in the built-in MultiMedia Catalog database
Together with any accompanying textual information, images and documents. You can take full advantage of the MultiMedia Catalog when applied to the FISH method. Our database will become a reliable assistant for cataloging patient data and analysis results.
  • Print informative and presentable patient reports
They contain graphics, images and other information in the form that is most convenient for your laboratory or research institute.
  • Shift correction of source images
  • Automatic construction of the resulting image of fluorescent markers
  • Possibility of carrying out manual measurements for solving individual problems

Equipment

To capture fluorescent preparations even with the weakest glow, we offer cameras for a fluorescent microscope based on Sony Exmor Pregius IMX249, IMX265 and IMX264 sensors in monochrome or color versions, complete with MMC FISH software.

The use of B/W cameras is recommended, as they have a slightly higher sensitivity due to the lack of color filters on the sensor. It is also possible to manufacture specialized input systems for specific user tasks.
